MNC's APAC Marketing Conference Cupcakes

I loved getting this order.  When I got the call, I was really excited because 1) it was a brilliant order and nothing like what I've done before and 2) I used to work for this firm and have lots of good memories from there.

The directive:  11 cupcakes for 11 marketing ladies, here from across APAC, for their marketing conference.  Each cupcake is to be tailored to their individual likes/ interests. Kudos to their marketing boss for knowing what each of them likes.

The purpose:  Team- bonding.  As the ladies came from different countries in the region, they don't get to spend time with each other on a daily basis.  The cupcakes were used as a team bonding activity where the ladies got to know each other much better, learn about their likes and interests.  What a good way to break the ice 'cos who doesn't love cupcakes and how cool to see your own interest on a cupcake!

The feedback: Resounding success! The ladies were shrieking in excitement (I was told), and loved their cupcakes.  That just makes me so happy.

Hotdog Buns - Asian Style

Ok these are totally irrelevant to cupcakes but I had a go at baking these recently and they were so yum! So I decided to share the pics (and make myself hungry looking at them).

Crayon Shin-Chan (蜡笔小新) Cupcakes

Been so busy with cupcakes (and the kids) recently that I completely forgot I haven't been updating my blog!  Not that I'm complaining, being busy is good :-)  Lots of photos to post tonight!

Here's an order for Shin Chan cupcakes, in both 2D and 3D.  The weather was so humid that weekend that my fondant was sweating. Was procrastinating using Tylose powder even though it would stop the sweating, as the customer was a pregnant lady and Tylose powder, though non toxic, is still a chemical after all.  As a result, fondant was a bit shiny, oops. Sorry Christy!

Shin Chan's "Elephant" was specifically requested!

Orange and Poppyseed Muffins

The hubby decided he wanted to bring some home made goodies to work tomorrow so I rummaged through the pantry to see what I could find. Luckily he bought some oranges this evening, so voila! Orange and poppyseed muffins!  The smells wafting from the oven was just heavenly, so I ate one myself 15 min after they came out of the oven (justifying it by telling myself that warm muffins are really the best).  :-)

Ryan's 6th Birthday Cupcakes

Alyson's 6th Birthday

An order was placed for a client's 6 year old daughter, for a celebration in her school.  Two separate themes were requested, one for the girls (Disney Princesses), and one for the boys (Ben10).  I didn't have much idea about Ben10 prior to this, but now I know all about the little boy who can turn into monsters via his watch.  Sorry, Omnitrix. Haha.  It was a good learning process and I think I have to make a guilty admission: toppers for girls are just so much more interesting and colorful than those for boys!

Happy Birthday Princess Alyson, hope you have a blast!
